The LMA’s philosophy is to address the needs of the community for religious as well as social purposes. The aim is to make it easier for the community to carry out their daily prayers nearest to their home because of the increase in crime and bad social elements. In keeping with this approach the LMA manages and supports the maintenance of seven Mosques in Lenasia. This management includes all operating costs, repairs, refurbishments, cleaning and utility bills. Unfortunately, due to the poor economic climate and the ever escalation in costs it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain these establishments. The LMA has embarked on a self-sustaining project to develop rental income projects by building flats to ease the burden of the expenses, although it eases the burden but it doesn’t alleviate the problem.
