FEEDING SCHEMES FOR LEARNERS

In many areas of Lenasia and EldoradoPark both parents have to work in order to sustain their families.  Many are employed outside of Lenasia and have to leave their children in the care of childminders, grandparents or older siblings and even alone. Some children come from broken homes or are even being abused. These learners come to school without a proper breakfast or a meal at lunch time. The child’s ability to concentrate is affected because of hunger. Learners are often malnourished. Thus the LMA saw a dire need to start a feeding scheme for these learners and the numbers have increased to 500, lunches are prepared daily for these learners.
